Linda, I am so sorry. I said goodbye to my best (dog) friend on Wednesday and I know how very hard it is. You and Josie will be in my thoughts.

So sorry for your loss. Beautiful pics. She looks like a very special girl. Was just talking to a friend who recently lost her cat about how non-animal people just don't get how strong the feeling of loss is when one is gone. Hope you're feeling better. All best.

Thank you all for your kind comments and concern. Yes, it's true. Animals can mean a lot to us. Josie and I shared a special bond. When I brought her home almost ten years ago, she was a wild, fence-crashing, totally distrustful animal. But she had a wise heart and a gentle soul, and when she finally learned to trust humans, that wonderful personality came shining through. She's been a great ambassador for donkeys, even to people who've never met her in person. Those eyes! Those ears! She will definitely be missed. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it.
