Josie's New Friends

Many of you know my wonderful donkey Josie.

She already has a horse for company, but we thought she might like a girlfriend of her own kind - another jenny.

A friend of mine, who has a wonderful blog about animals told me about some donkeys for sale. There were three of them, so we went to look. They were all tied up in a small pen, a white one, a brown one, and a grey one. How could we determine their personalities? How could we possibly choose?

Sooo . . . at the end of the day . . . we came home not with one donkey . . .

Not with two donkeys . . . .

But with all three donkeys!

Are we nuts?
And after lots of suggestions for names (thanks for the feedback everyone!)
~ please meet ~
Sage (the grey one) Cupcake (the brown one) and Loretta (the white one.)

Josie now has lots of friends. Are we going to keep them all?? Probably not. How do we know which one to keep? How can you possibly choose?

Awwww...I can't wait to hear the continuing story of Sage, Cupcake and Loretta. I'm so glad this worked out for you!
And -wow- how *will* you ever choose??? :-)
Wait. What does Josie think?

Tom and I have never started collecting donkeys, which is surprising since we seem to have everything else. Our neighbors did acquire a jumping mule though. He comes and goes amongst the neighboring horses, including ours, as he pleases.

Hey check out the latest review of my book! You can get there through my blog.

They are beautiful, but now that you've brought them home and named them, how will you ever give one or two up? Like Farmgirl suggested, maybe Josie will decide.

Yes, I think Josie will be the one to decide, eventually. Right now I am just beginning to know all the new donkeys' personalities, and so is Josie. I have turned them all out together, but they think Josie's grazing muzzle is funny-looking and stand there making jokes, like a cliquey bunch of high school girls. I may let the new donks take turns visiting Josie in her little corral, and see who does best. Or, we may keep every lovely one of them *knocks head against desk* ;-)
